Dog In Lake

dog in lake

From the Flickr page, "Hims so purdy!! Heston Graham Brooks Braswell pure bred black Great Dane puppy 3 months two weeks old."

Awesome. Our Boaz won't go near water. We got him from a shelter when he was two so don't know his history that might have led to the water-hating thing. Then again, maybe Cocker's don't like water, but? In any case, the Hessinator sure likes water and he's a pleasure to watch. You can see more at LitteGoldWomen's Photostream

Fluffy So Cute

I love the way her ears flop around. Makes her look like she's paying attention, trying to catch every instruction. She aims to please.

Dignity, Even at a Young Age

MAGNUS MAXIMUS 4

A young pup, a mastiff (?), roughly how old (?), here communicates both youth and dignity. Yes he can be playful. But he holds himself up with good posture, facing a world - that is all about fun.

This all raises the meta issue underlying probably all of my posts, "What does it mean to project feelings and sensibilities upon an animal whose feelings are much less complex than our own."

Rikki's After Bath Happy Dance

Even though I'm creating this blog in honor of dogs... I don't really have much experience with dogs. We've had Boaz for two + years, and in college I had a mutt named Kahlua for one year. Otherwise I'm clueless.

So did I know whether other dogs do happy dances? Not really. Now Rikki shows up. She's awesome. I guess I have to give up on the idea that Boaz might have been the only dog in the world to do happy dances—but that's cool. Let the dancing go on! Go Rikki!

What kind of dog is Rikki (not that she is required to be any particular kind to be totally adoreable)?
